Days 46-50 - Arches National Park, UT

We were stoked for our visit to Arches National Park, a place I've always dreamed of seeing. We bunked in the cozy city of Moab, UT but managed to snag a night of camping in the park. And let me tell you, the campground was beyond stunning. With over 3,000 arches in the park, we were bound to spot a few. Determined to catch our first arch at sunset and hike in the moonlight, I dragged Steve along on my grand adventure. Armed with headlamps, we set off late in the day. Little did I know, the time between sunset and moonrise is a LOT longer than I thought…whoops. Even if we had planned better, the windy conditions dashed our hopes of a chill sunset picnic. Before the sun could even think about setting, I sheepishly suggested we head back. Of course, a few days later I confessed my misjudgment to Steve. Oops!

Moab is a rad little town with tons of delicious eateries (and shops if that's your thing). We scoped out spots for Steve to catch the Caps playoff games in real-time. During our one-night stay at the park, we tackled the Devil’s Garden loop trail. This trek was our most epic yet, starting from our campground and making our way down to the trailhead. All in all, we trudged a whopping 10 miles of some seriously insane hiking. The trails sometimes led us along the edges of cliffs and scattering over narrow rock passages and were challenging to navigate (see the video below).

Thank goodness Steve had the All Trails app handy, because let's face it, we both suck at finding our way. Despite the struggle, the hike was absolutely worth it! We laid eyes on numerous majestic arches and breathtaking vistas.
