After saying goodbye to the stunning rock formations of Arches NP, we set our sights on our next destination: Grand Teton NP. But first, we made a pit stop in Salt Lake City for some much-needed shut-eye and supplies. The following day, we hit the road for the Tetons, where we had four glorious nights ahead of us.
Our lodging was split between two spots: two nights at Fireside Resort near the charming town of Jackson, and two nights at Signal Mountain in the Park to the north. After setting up camp, we ventured into Jackson for a hearty meal and a stop at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, where the seats are saddles - a real blast from the past, reminding me of a long-ago road trip with my friend Sarah. An awesome road trip🤩
Despite some rainy weather trying to dampen our spirits, we didn't let it ruin our fun. We tackled a scenic hike, took a thrilling Gondola ride to Corbet’s Couloir for breathtaking views, and made the most of our time in the Tetons. Because a little rain can't stop adventurous souls like us!
One highlight was a wildlife tour with an amazing guide. We spotted a black bear, pronghorn antelopes, a juvenile bald eagle, a kestrel, many (many) elk, and even a moose - talk about a nature jackpot! These guides are like the animal whisperers, chatting it up with the park rangers and always in the loop. Our guide was top-notch, schooling us on how to spot wildlife like a pro.
As we headed back, we stumbled upon the elk celeb, Hollywood, and a cute fox rummaging through the campsites. Our last day in the Tetons took us to the National Elk Refuge, where we were greeted by a bunch of bighorn sheep (the adult males are Rams). Some parts of the Tetons were still waking up from their winter slumber, but the beauty of those magnificent mountains was just impossible to fully capture, no matter how many pics I snapped.
Next stop ~ Yellowstone National Park!
